Bred for greatness, Dak is by Malibu Moon, a sire well-known for producing successful three-day eventers, and out of Peppers Pride, the legendary New Mexico mare who won19 for 19 on the track and went on to be a broodmare at Taylor Made Farm. Dak came off the track at 4 and has been lovingly owned, developed, and managed by the same person for the last eight years.
Dak is low-mileage, sound, and has been brought along thoughtfully. He’s only been competed in a limited number of recognized and unrecognized events and schooling dressage shows. He is currently ready for Modified and has the talent to progress much higher with the right partnership. He’s been maintained responsibly with regular hock injections and magnesium supplementation, and his feet have always been monitored closely for comfort. No known old injuries. This is not a horse for a timid or beginner rider — Dak is a powerful horse and does take alot of leg. He has an educated mouth and is well schooled in dressage often scoring in the 20s. He can occasionally spook, though he’s been extremely well-behaved in his current program. He thrives with a confident rider and does best living outside in an open, relaxed environment, although well mannered in a stall he is simply a much happier horse with room to roam. He currently lives on 5 acres with a herd of other geldings. With the right setup and the right person in the saddle, Dak is the kind of horse who could go all the way.
