French Horse Exports regularly looks for interns to come work and ride in France at our facilities located at Saint Lo. We seek college students looking to fulfill their internships or college grads looking for some experience working abroad. Our facility is located at the Haras National in Saint Lo and our main focus is horse brokering. However, we also run a sales and training barn where interns get the opportunity to ride, train, and show young horses. We require interns to have a competent level in riding and consistently jumping 3ft+ in any discipline. Only those that are at a high enough level will get to show. If you are more comfortable on the ground, we do seek interns to help with chores, grooming, and our social media marketing and other business duties. Here is an example of what you will do/learn.

We are looking for a working student that has horse experience such as grooming, caring for and working with sport horses. Job duties include blanketing, turnout, grooming, cleaning tack, riding depends on level of intern. Shared housing provided in a three bedroom house which is fully furnished, includes utilities, wifi, washer/dryer, private room, shared kitchen, and living space. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner provided everyday. We are looking for a hard working dedicated individual to join our team!
The ideal candidate will have some experience working in a barn, so will be able to work efficiently, with attention to detail, and be comfortable dealing with young horses (4,5,6 yo).
Your day will consist of the normal morning barn work (feeding, hay, keeping barn immaculate) and then moving on riding (schooling, hacking, lungeing) then grooming, cleaning tack, and closing up the stables for the night.
