3 Tips For Protecting Your LM Bots

Your LM Boots are a symbol of quality, crafted with premium leather to provide you with lasting comfort and style. To keep your boots in impeccable condition and extend their longevity, regular maintenance is essential. Here are three tips to ensure your boots remain as stunning as the day you got them:

  1. Leather Love: Leather is a natural material that deserves a little extra care. After a day of riding or wearing your boots, gently wipe away dirt and mud with a damp cloth. Pay attention to creases and seams where dirt can accumulate. Regular cleaning prevents premature aging and the development of wrinkles. Leather, like skin, needs hydration. Apply a hand cream or leather moisturizer both inside and outside your boots. After 24 hours, when the leather has absorbed the treatment, a quality polish will make your boots shine. We recommend weekly treatment for daily wear, and monthly care for occasional use.
  2. Zipper & Snaps Care: Sand and dirt can find their way into zippers, potentially damaging them over time. Clean your zippers weekly using a brush, and apply gun oil lubricant to the nylon to keep them in top condition. Don't forget about the snaps! Apply gun oil lubricant, then use a cloth to remove any residue or rust. Clean both ends of the snaps for flawless functionality and to prevent corrosion.
  3. Inside Patch: The inside patch of your boots should also receive attention. Gently clean it with a damp cloth, followed by a hand cream or leather moisturizer to maintain its softness and durability. In addition to these three tips, here are some more recommendations for pristine boot care:
  4. Brush off accumulated dirt.
  5. Dry wet boots at room temperature, avoiding electric heat or direct sunlight.
  6. Use high-quality leather conditioner to prevent cracks and wrinkles.
  7. To maintain the boot's shape, insert wooden or plastic boot trees.
  8. Polish your boots to remove scratches and scuffs. Please Note: Leather conditioners are not recommended for high-shine Dressage Boots, crafted in semi-gloss Brush-up leather. However, they can be used on the interior panel for enhanced softness.

We're dedicated to ensuring your LM Boots fit perfectly. Make sure to follow our fitting recommendations for the utmost comfort. For boots with twisted zippers, consider using a shoe horn during initial wear to accommodate the wider ankle area.

Our Spanish Top and the natural "drop" of your boots may require some getting used to, but it's all part of the elegance you'll experience in English riding. Fit at the calf and ankle is designed to be snug, so use nylon knee-highs to help the leather stretch to your legs. Remember, with proper care and maintenance, your LM Boots will continue to shine, ride after ride. Invest in preserving the beauty and durability of your boots, and they'll reward you with unmatched performance.
