Welcome to a day in the life of Tahoe Equine. We are a full-service equine rehabilitation and conditioning center in Gardnerville, Nevada. We offers the best and most complete equipment to get your equine athlete or companion ready for the season or back from any type of musculoskeletal issue. At Tahoe Equine, we offer a hands-on approach and veterinary oversight for the rehabilitation and conditioning of all performance horse disciplines.
Enjoy a tour of our facility, meet a few of our horses staying with us, and learn about the treatments we provide.
First thing in the morning, we clean stalls in our climate controlled barn, and feed breakfast. They each get grooming time, and our assistants check over the horses for any blemishes, swelling or hives - anything different from the day before. Then the horses that can go on our Eurociser have a session, and If they can't go in, they get a hand walk around the barn.
After their morning walk, depending on rehab or conditioning cases, we decide if they go into our In-Ground AquaTread, or the Cold Salt Water Spa, which is kept between 32 and 34 degrees. These each have targeted benefits for resistance, healing, managing inflammation, and even preventing injuries!
After their swimming or spa-ing, some horses will have the option of receiving treatment with our Class 4 RLT Regenerative Laser, which uses short, high energy pulses that create acoustic waves deep in the tissue. This can regenerate or remove scar tissue, and improve circulation in a non-invasive way.
At the end of each day, the horses are tucked into their clean stalls with a full manger to be well-rested for the next day of exercise. Thanks so much for joining us here for the day at Tahoe Equine. For any questions or to book time with us, give us a call!
